ARES Yachts Introduces the 54m Explorer Superyacht ATLAS
ARES Yachts has unveiled new visuals of its 54-meter explorer superyacht, ATLAS. Initially presented in October, this vessel is crafted for long-distance journeys, boasting a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles and a maximum speed exceeding 16 knots.
Exterior Design and Naval Engineering
The exterior design of ATLAS is the work of the Italian design firm Hot Lab, part of the Viken Group, while its naval architecture was engineered by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The yacht incorporates a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), maximizing efficiency at varying speeds. The build remains below the 500-GT limit, offering classification advantages and operational efficiencies.
Remarkable Outdoor Areas
A standout feature of ATLAS is its unique mezzanine bow design, substituting the conventional forward deck with a tiered relaxation area. This space encompasses a private spa pool that is accessible from the owner’s suite, providing direct views of the ocean.
Accommodations for guests consist of four suites with immediate access to the beach club, made possible by a forward-located engine room. The yacht also accommodates a crew of nine in five cabins.
Spacious Beach Club and Social Spaces
The aft section converts into a lounge area that is open to the air, featuring fold-down terraces on three sides, enhancing deck space and connecting guests to their surroundings. This area is equipped with a cocktail bar, sun loungers, and seating options, perfect for both relaxation and social engagement.
Deck Configuration and Onboard Enjoyment
The deck arrangement of ATLAS prioritizes versatility, with sun decks facilitating seamless shifts between dining, lounging, and entertainment. An infinity pool is strategically placed to provide uninterrupted ocean vistas, elevating the onboard experience.
Performance and Exploration Features
Engineered for adventure, ATLAS includes a generous tender garage with a side-launch mechanism for easy release of the main tender. The yacht can accommodate various watercraft, such as jet skis, seabobs, paddleboards, diving gear, and submersibles.
Additional exploration features consist of a helipad, facilitating swift transfers and aerial excursions. The yacht is also designed to potentially utilize hybrid propulsion and solar panels to lower emissions.
Construction and Upcoming Developments
ATLAS is a component of ARES Yachts’ expanding lineup, which features the 50.55m SPITFIRE model along with fully customized projects. The shipyard is committed to advancing yacht designs, ensuring a blend of efficiency, performance, and contemporary aesthetics.
