Heesen Yachts Delivers 55m Custom Superyacht Solemates to Repeat Client

Heesen Yachts has announced the successful handover of Solemates (YN 20655), a fully custom 55-meter steel superyacht, to a veteran owner returning to the Dutch shipyard for a second time. This delivery showcases Heesen’s capacity to merge engineering excellence with personalized customization through its speculative build approach.

Established Platform with Enhanced Personalization

Solemates is constructed on Heesen’s proven 55-meter Steel framework, featuring the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) crafted by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The exterior design, conceived by Omega Architects, preserves the elegant, recognizable contours of the series. The owner, an experienced yachtsman, opted for this platform due to its dependability and operational efficiency, enabling a focus on enhancing the onboard experience.

While the overall design stays true to prior models, a variety of enhancements have been integrated throughout the yacht. Though subtle on their own, these improvements collectively elevate the vessel’s functionality and onboard comfort. The construction process benefited from the owner’s active participation and yachting expertise, facilitating quicker decision-making and implementation.

Interior Designed for Family Cruising

Interior alterations were guided by Silvia Margutti of Luca Dini Design and Architecture, collaborating closely with the owner. The design features lively accents, a reimagined main staircase with gold-flaked acrylic panels, and an expanded sundeck hot tub area—components chosen to cater to a family-centric cruising lifestyle.

One of the notable highlights is a multi-deck atrium, created through close collaboration between the owner’s team and Heesen’s project personnel. This architectural feature enhances vertical connectivity and floods the interior spaces with natural light.

Performance and Charter Availability

Solemates successfully underwent sea trials in the North Sea, affirming her performance capabilities and efficiency. With a gross tonnage of 760 GT, she boasts ample volume for long-distance journeys while preserving the structural integrity and comfort associated with Northern European craftsmanship.

The yacht will be available for charter through Luxury Yacht Group and is set to make her official appearance at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show, where she will be featured prominently in Heesen’s exhibition.

Heesen’s Ongoing Commitment to Custom Craftsmanship

Heesen’s CEO highlighted that the delivery of Solemates to a returning client reinforces the shipyard’s image for high quality and client satisfaction. The project exemplifies how Heesen’s speculative build strategy can integrate substantial customization without delaying delivery timelines.

Established in 1978, Heesen Yachts specializes in the creation of custom superyachts in aluminum and steel ranging from 30 to 70 meters. With over 170 vessels successfully delivered so far, the shipyard continues to enhance its approach to merging proven engineering with personalized design solutions.
