The M/Y Sofia 3 has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment at Lusben’s Shipyard in Viareggio and is now making its debut.
Recently, the reputable Viareggio shipyard, run by Lusben, marked the technical launch of the 42-meter Baglietto vessel, M/Y Sofia 3. This significant event signifies the conclusion of an extensive renovation and modification task that has converted this superyacht into an epitome of contemporary luxury and engineering.
The comprehensive improvements on Sofia 3 encompassed structural, mechanical, and visual enhancements. The undertaking started in 2018 when the yacht’s proprietors chose Lusben to perform significant modifications such as extending the stern and installing a pop-out transformer. In November 2022, the work’s remit was broadened to introduce more upgrades, culminating in a seven-month process that intricately improved each facet of the ship.
Some of the prominent changes include the use of an advanced dark grey color on the hull and superstructure. This is enhanced by a paint that resembles wood on the ceilings, which brings a sense of warmth and uniqueness. The design of the sundeck at the front has been redesigned with a new couch and teak deck, while outdoor ceilings now have maritime plywood paneling for better looks and functionality. Modifications have been made structurally as well to tackle problems of water seepage and rust, including substantial replacements of glass in areas like the wheelhouse windows.
After the completion of the exterior modifications, Sofia 3 is now prepared for the interior upgrading. La Mandragola, a company based in Viareggio, has created designs that ensure an interior that aligns with the yacht’s freshly enhanced exterior.
Lusben, boasting more than six decades of proficiency in the yacht refit industry, has once more showcased its expertise by successfully completing this project. The company’s commitment to quality guarantees that Sofia 3 will be a remarkable sight in any marina.
